About Houston Aid
Houston Aid (HouAid) is a free, open-source directory built and maintained by the Global Shapers Houston Hub, one of more than 500 city-based hubs of the World Economic Forum's young leaders network.
We built HouAid because Houston's safety net is large, well-funded, and fragmented. Hundreds of organizations deliver real services every day, but most residents never hear about them until a crisis hits. We've consolidated, verified, and continuously refreshed the most relevant of them in one place.
The directory is curated by humans, refreshed by AI. Every entry is hand-checked against the providing organization. A small tooling layer keeps phones, hours, and program details current by cross-referencing public sources on a monthly cadence.

The Global Shapers Community is a network of young leaders working to drive change in their cities. The Houston Hub focuses on civic engagement, equitable access to opportunity, and projects like HouAid that help our neighbors find help when they need it.
